After not having recorded for over two years, I didn't know if I still had it or not. while sitting in my home studio for a while, a sudden thought of being dismissed came to me. I thought about times in my life when I felt dismissed and I knew I had to sing about it. That is how this song came about. This is me mixing down my new song "Dismiss Me" for my up coming EP "Invasion"' I couldn't sleep this morning, and I had a sudden desire to create. It was early probably around five in the morning. I got out of bed took a shower and did my morning routine, but one thing was missing, My coffee! I know but hey your girl needed a cup of coffee you understand right. Anyways I was sitting down watching the news and enjoying my morning coffee when all of a sudden I felt that creativity rushing back to me. I turned off the T.V. and went into my home recording studio. I have a nice little setup at home and I record on a MXL 880 with a shock suppressor. I also use AKG 440 head phones, I used to use the Executive Series Beats audio head phones but the left speaker blew out and I ain't got time to play around so I just went back to my good old trust worthy AKGs, which by the way are solid Studio Headphones, and for the price you can’t beat them. But that’s a whole different blog entirely. That’s enough about my little old setup, but one last thing to always remember is "It don't matter how you make it. It only matters how that final track sounds and feels." Now as I was sitting there I was listening to this dope beat I had from my in house Producer TaylaMade08 with whom I work closely with. Well the beat was speaking to me and I just went into the zone. The zone is a special state of mind you enter when you’re doing what you do best at the highest level of consciousness. If you’re in the zone you know it and there’s no question about it. Time starts to slow and I become completely focused, But I was channeling other people's feelings of dismissal that I have watched and felt. So this will be a very powerful and emotional song and I just can’t wait until my loving fans get to hear the final product.
